Saving The Honeybees

“Nuc” Sponsorship

Sponsoring a Nuc of honeybees through Hood Brook Apiary‘s “Saving the Honeybees” initiative in Maine helps support local honeybee populations, essential for pollination and ecosystem health. It provides a meaningful way to contribute to conservation efforts, promote biodiversity, and assist in rebuilding colonies affected by environmental challenges. Plus, sponsorship offers educational opportunities and the chance to make a lasting impact on Maine’s environment, all while supporting the continued growth of healthy, thriving bees in our community.

Also, as a “mini hive,” all the bees are related, and the queen has been accepted, and she is already laying. The “Nuc” comes with 5 drawn frames with honey, nester, capped brood, and eggs.  These 5-frames are removed from the Bux and installed in a waiting 10-frame hive.   These bees have a big head start over packages and have a better chance of survival.
